Coventry Artspace is a charity that celebrates the amazing city of Coventry through supporting the visual arts and artists.
The aim of the Artspace-Coventry Online Shop or a_shop is to enable local artists to create items that capture the nature and integrity of their practice, but are affordable to anyone who wishes to enjoy their work and support them. In this phase of the project we have provided mentoring and funding for 3 local artists to each create at least one product for the shop. Production costs and artist development fees have been covered by the project and the artists also receive royalties on their product. All the artists have taken environmental factors into consideration when creating their items, using local businesses and recycled materials wherever possible. This is a not-for-profit project and any funds raised after costs will be used to support more artists to explore the commercial potential of their work.
